Given the current school closures and the end of the school year, we are starting to get more questions and concerns around compensatory education and extended school year opportunities for students. Families are seeking clarity regarding which options they have and how to go about accessing those options.
In this webinar, Rose Spidell, Senior Education Ombuds with the Office of the Education Ombuds (OEO), explains what compensatory education and ESY programs are and what we know currently about how compensatory education might be addressed once schools reopen, outlines steps families can take to be ready for IEP team discussions about these services, and answers your questions. Moderated by League of Education Voters Communications Director Arik Korman.
